Instructions

Slice the beef paper-thin on a cutting board with a carving knife. Marinate in a mixing bowl with the soy sauce, maple syrup, crushed garlic, grated ginger and half the sesame oil for 15 minutes.

Cook the rice in a saucepan and julienne the carrot with a grater.

Heat the remaining sesame oil in a non-stick pan over the highest heat and fry the beef with its marinade in two batches, 2 minutes each, until caramelised at the edges.

Serve on the rice with the carrot, sliced spring onions and a scatter of sesame seeds.
